Mr william wilson…

...commenced trading at 39 Market St Monaghan in 1954 as a general drapery store as was typical at that time in Ireland. The shop sold mens, ladies and childrenswear, aswell as general household linens curtains, and had a knitting wool department.

A short time later…

…Mr Norman Wilson joined his brother, having purchased the adjoining shoe shop, and Wilson Bros was born.

Through time…

…Wilson Bros became a specialized mens and boyswear store. The shoe shop was sold after the retirement of Norman Wilson and the clothing ranges expanded with the purchase of another ajoining shop.

Today the shop…

…is still family run by Robert Wilson son of William and the third generation has recently been involved with the commencement of Catherine.

IN 2003…

…the business expanded to a second location when ProjectW opened in Monaghan Shopping Centre. This shop aimed for a younger more casual market in both mens and ladies fashions.

Today wilson bros…

…has become a well known specialist mens and boys store with the same emphasis on quality and customer service that was evident in 1954. The ground floor houses casualwear on 2 levels, one area is for the younger market with brands such as Superdry, Tommy Hilfiger and Helly Hanson. The second area is for the young at heart with quality labels like Bugatti, Casa Moda, Eden Park and Meyer.

The recently refurbished…

…first floor houses the suit room with suits and jackets by Magee, Hilfiger, Strellson and Herby Frogg. The younger customers are catered by the recently awarded menswear brand of the year “Remus Uomo” in a dedicated Remus Room.

The most recent…

…addition is the return of shoes to the store with the opening this year of a new shoe area. This houses dress and casual shoes by Bugatti, Lloyd And Pryce, Base Of London and GEOX.
